AutoCAD For PC (April-2022)
The main work surface consists of a 5×7 (or 6×9) area that has two primary parts. The top half is for drawing objects and editing drawing objects. The bottom half is for arranging, annotating, and viewing/rendering the drawing objects. The interface also has some pre-defined user commands that can be accessed by clicking the right mouse button, and by right clicking in the “hands” at the bottom right corner.
The drawing area is considered the canvas for drawing, and has several user interface elements.
Double-click on the drawing area background to open the Properties pallet. It contains all the settings for the drawing. The properties are organized in six palettes: Canvas, Layers, Layers Panel, Properties, Attributes, and Annotation Markup.
The Canvas palette contains settings for the canvas area. It includes horizontal and vertical placement of various drawing objects.
Horizontal & Vertical Placement
Click on one of the four placement arrow buttons on the canvas to place the drawing objects in that direction. Any drawing objects that are placed in this manner will overlap and are considered in a group.
Click the text box next to the name entry to edit the name of the canvas area.
Click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the background color entry and choose a new background color.
Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the dimensions drop-down menu to change the size of the canvas area, which will resize the entire drawing area. The canvas dimensions set the size of the entire drawing area, and also apply to the dimensions of all the drawing objects created in this canvas area.
Click on the down-arrow next to the Scaling drop-down menu and choose one of the scaling options. Scale applies to the entire drawing area, and scaling objects in the drawing area will be adjusted to match the new size of the canvas.
Drag the bottom-left corner to set the origin of the canvas area. The origin is the point at which all new drawing objects are drawn.
Click on the down-arrow next to the Rotation drop-down menu and choose one of the rotation options. Rotate applies to the entire drawing area, and rotation objects in the drawing area will be adjusted to match the new orientation of

The city council has approved building a 12-story residential tower next to the Yonge-St. Clair subway line, but the project has some councillors upset and some angry residents who say it will cause more traffic and parking problems.
The proposed eight-storey apartment building will be one of a series of towers that will go up south of Yonge and east of Finch Avenue, but it is the only one that got approval.
The project, by CityRealty, is at 168 River St.
“It’s big and it’s ugly, it’s definitely big and it’s definitely ugly,” said one resident. “It’s a huge project.”
Another resident who lives on River Street was worried about increased traffic on River Street when the new buildings are built.
“It will cause more traffic, parking and congestion on River Street, which is already very tight,” said resident Tammie Burns.
Ward 30 councillor Justin Di Ciano voted against the project. He said it will create more problems.
“The area has a history of being used as a dumping ground for various sorts of things,” said Di Ciano. “Now we have a really ugly construction site next to the Yonge-St. Clair line.”
City councillors supported the project when it was in front of a planning committee last month.
The proposal was for a seven-storey building and a three-storey basement. The building would have 194 units and total of 5,254 square feet of commercial space.
There was no mention of parking at the project’s public hearing Monday. But the project will require at least 100 parking spaces.
A parking spot was even sold on a municipal website on Friday, the first day people were allowed to bid on them.
Developer Ian Peck is not happy with the process, and said he won’t proceed with the project.
“We are very disappointed that our application has been rejected,” said Peck. “I think the city is taking a very adversarial stance against development.
