AutoCAD is aimed primarily at professional architectural, engineering and construction industry users. AutoCAD is intended for use by firms and individuals who draw diagrams, such as architects, engineers, draftsman and other graphic arts professionals.
AutoCAD is the result of the development of numerous versions of the predecessor named DRAWit. The original version of DRAWit was released in 1974.
Before releasing DRAWit, Autodesk was primarily a software publisher and the largest provider of 3D modeling software on a personal computer. In 1976, Autodesk created a division that produced commercial products for the design community. In 1977, the division also released a small CAD program for the Apple II microcomputer. By 1979, Autodesk’s CAD division was creating a model for a group of larger computer users.
In early 1980, Autodesk’s CAD division released DRAWit, a program for the Apple II that allowed users to produce engineering and architectural designs on a desktop computer. To improve DRAWit’s capabilities, Autodesk created a new company, in early 1982. With the help of one of its employees, Scott Doolittle, Autodesk created a new, open source software package named CADN-D (Customer-Adopters Development Network Design). CADN-D was a student project for Autodesk’s Computer Science Department, and it was released in late 1982. The idea for CADN-D was to create an inexpensive, easy-to-use CAD program that would be available to a greater number of people.
Autodesk completed CADN-D’s development in early 1983, and it was released in December of that year. The goal of CADN-D was to provide an inexpensive, easy-to-use, user-friendly CAD application for professionals. CADN-D was a “white-box” software application – it was designed from scratch, and it was priced to compete with the commercial CAD applications on the market at that time. CADN-D offered a combination of features and capabilities that were rarely found together. For example, CADN-D offered users the ability to create cross-sections, as well as full-scale models, in a single drawing. CADN-D also offered support for scalable fonts, which was very unusual at that time. By early 1984, CADN-D was the only affordable, affordable, easy-to-use, open-source CAD package on the

Data Management – Exchange CAD Data Between Windows and AutoCAD
An Application Programming Interface (API) that is part of the AutoCAD package allows applications to access the drawing data and to manipulate the drawing information. The data can be managed, extracted, validated and exported to other formats. The extension, which is part of the AutoCAD package, works in a similar way to other CAD extensions.
Use of XML, DXF
Autodesk CAD uses XML, DXF, and DWG interchange format which allows import and export of drawings to other CAD formats. There are free and paid applications available for the exchange of drawings. CAD information such as parts, sheets, location information can be read and manipulated. An alternative standard to the aforementioned files is PDF.
As a result of a significant community effort, the Autodesk Exchange Toolbox is available, it allows the export of drawing and feature information in several different file formats.
AutoCAD Shortcut tool is a collection of shortcuts to common actions in AutoCAD, such as move/resize, rotate, copy, delete, undo/redo, cut/paste, fit/unfit, lock/unlock, etc. There are shortcuts for basic operations such as move, rotate, cut and paste.

What’s New in the?
Revit Link is a great way to share parametric building information in your drawings. Use it to store the name, dimension, and parameter values of components, surfaces, and walls. (video: 2:30 min.)
The latest CAD manager for the AI platform offers a powerful new way to generate designs and offers easy integration with the new AutoCAD 2023. (video: 2:40 min.)
3D Solids & Surfaces:
Easily control whether solids are displayed as faces, edges, or surfaces with the new Display tab of the Mesh Information dialog box.
Command-Option-Shift-F (Mac: ⌘-⌥-⌃-⇧-F) quickly unifies the display of faces, edges, and surfaces in a mesh.
Graphical layers can now be displayed and hidden in 3D views. New graphical layers give designers full control over the 3D view environment.
Use the Edit layer and the Mesh Info dialog box to generate your own graphical layers. (video: 3:10 min.)
High-quality, rich vector graphics, including semi-transparent fill and stroke patterns, are available in the Raster Graphics toolset. In addition, the new Raster Graphics engine makes it easy to work with new types of image files.
Save your image files in native vector formats such as.AI,.DXF,.DWG, and.EMF.
Create animation sequences using the new Animator tool.
New Raster Graphics editor tools make it easier to edit existing or create new vector graphics files. (video: 3:40 min.)
Designate a new base point when creating 2D views. Now, you can quickly create a view that fits a viewport and any previously created 2D view without having to select a viewport as the base point.
The Tool Options dialog box now includes new options for the Hand tool, the Camera tool, and the Modeling toolbar.
The Import Results dialog box no longer has a Filter button. Filters are now managed through the Organize tab of the Import Results dialog box.
No longer automatically update the status bar when the import operation is complete.

System Requirements For AutoCAD:
Windows 7 64 bit / Windows 10 64 bit / Windows 8 64 bit
1.5 GHz processor
3GB RAM (4GB recommended)
2GB free disk space (10GB recommended)
500MB available space for installation
DirectX 11 graphics hardware
The minimum system requirements are very high, especially the recommended system requirements. Therefore, I am strongly recommending to use the recommended system requirements if you want to get the most out of StarCraft II.
